Malaysia – The Paradise of food!

Our first international ministry point done and dusted. Malaysia with its rich culture variety really opened our minds toward a broader picture of the world we live in and the green team has been so blessed throughout the week and a half we have spent here. God proves time and again that His plan for us is way better than what we could ever imagine!

Having fun with the PCC kids!

Our team worked together with PCC (Penang Christian Centre). This ministry point included kids and youth ministry, home cell groups, painting and some improvements made within the building. Three of our team members were part of the worship band on Sundays and the church enjoyed it so much!

We also spent a day at Crystal Care Centre- a safe haven for neglected kids and single parents. Here we could connect with the youth, do some renovation and listen to the astonishing testimony of their house father, pastor Barnabas. We could feel and see God’s love at CCC and left filled with the Holy Spirit once again.

“Something about Malaysia that stood out to me is more a person than a thing. We met a man who shared his testimony with us. He was previously a sinful man, addicted to drugs and alcohol, adulterer, violent and he served as a priest in a Buddhist temple. Then Jesus met him. He met him right where he was and he gave him a new name, made him a new creation. Jesus saved him.
Ps. Barnabas is now a Christian pastor, running an orphanage and raising broken children in the Lord. His words to us were ‘But now, every last drop of my body will shout Jesus!’ “

Youth nights!

We tackled this ministry point with a mindset that we are going to serve these people with everything we have got, but we ended up being served. During our fellowship with our fellow believers in Christ, God gave us a different taste of Spiritual food, and man did we feast on it! Many members of the church blessed us with lunch and dinners at different restaurants, a one of a kind hiking trip and many more experiences that now became long lasting memories! How is it that our God can spoil us in this way? God truly revealed different aspects of His character in the different people at PCC, we are in awe!!

“The joy with which the Malaysians wholeheartedly serve, stood out to me. To them it is a blessing to serve us. You can clearly see how their actions and words glorify God’s Kingdom and they honor Him through all they do and for all they have.”

The green team ready for the hike up Penang hill.

Everywhere we went the Malaysians told us about how their country is the Paradise of food, for us that was God’s special gift of Spiritual food- something we have tasted and want to implement in our daily lives. It is giving and receiving, it is adventure and resting, it is something to chase after, but also to be patiently waiting for. We believe Malaysia is only the hors d’oeuvres of what is yet to come this year!
God is good, truly we can tell you!

Love and blessings,

The Green Team
