Author: One Year Expedition
Introduction
Recently our team has been reminded about the fact that the God we serve is truly our provider. This whole year has been an amazing testament of how well the Father looks after us, and we just thought it fit to share some amazing testimonies about how He has consistently shown up for us this year.
We see the importance of sharing what He is doing in our lives and for that reason, we cannot keep quiet. We are overflowing with gratitude and we wish to impart unto you the reasons we are developing what I believe is unwavering faith.
Let this be a moment of praise. To look back...
Our team experienced Bolivia a little bit different than it did all the other countries. Initially, when we were praying for our route, we felt that the Lord’s plan for us in Bolivia wasn’t ministry amongst hosts…we had gotten direction that Bolivia is where we had to go but simply to pass through. So we did a classic Global style, Luke 10. We split up into groups and headed out to get from Santa Cruz to La Paz in 6 days hitchhiking with no money, just us, our thumbs out begging for lifts, and God. A nation that doesn’t shy away from welcoming any traveller whether from far or near, into their homes and offering up everything they have, to be shared joyfully and generously. The culture which is a will to serve and enjoy things along with us, is an attribute that one could...
After our time in East Africa we headed back to Johannesburg to get more training, and to rejuvenate ourselves before our next leg in South America. We did a course with Norm Wakefield called Live to Love and the whole team can agree that this course was not only convicting but life changing as it opened our eyes in terms of how we see the world and how we see each other. It challenged a world view that most of us didn’t even know we had and it enabled us to re-examine the way we are approaching ministry and the people that we are being sent to love. We asked ourselves questions like: “Are...
