Philippines | A New Wave Of Leaders On The Rise

As our team arrived in the Philippines, we were met with a wave of warmth and hospitality. This beautiful country, the only Christian nation in Asia, has a church that is strong, vibrant, and unapologetic.

We spent our days serving alongside local believers, witnessing firsthand the depth of their faith. The first Sunday service had set a fire in our hearts for the rest of our time in the Philippines!

We were surrounded by people desperate for prayer – men, women, and even young children, seeking guidance, healing, and deliverance. One scene etched itself into our memories: children, no older than 10, praying for their parents, asking for divine intervention in their lives. Their faith was pure, their trust unshaken.

Church in the Philippines

Our time in the church was a blessed experience. Worship was a celebration, with voices raised high, hands lifted, and hearts poured out. We felt the presence of the Lord, an energy that filled the room.

We had a blast serving at Sports Fest and Purity fest- an initiative lead by Revelation Church to reach the youth! First, we kicked off with a high-energy Sports Fest, where young people from the church and community came together to play, laugh, and connect through sports. Then, we followed up with a Purity Fest, sharing inspiring messages and testimonies about living a pure life. It was incredible to see friendships formed, memories made, and hearts touched by God’s love.

We met amazing individuals, hearing their stories of perseverance, hope, and redemption. We learned about the struggles they faced, the triumphs they achieved, and the unwavering faith that sustained them.

Youth Camp

But the most unforgettable experience was our time at a youth camp in Zambales. As we facilitated discussions, prayed, and worshipped with the young people, we witnessed a move of the Holy Spirit unlike anything we’d seen before. The theme of the camp focused on the story of Joshua and the vision was to call young people to step into their identity as children of God.

Chains were broken, and kids began to manifest signs of spiritual oppression. But as we prayed, the Lord set them free, releasing them from the burdens that had held them captive. Tears flowed, voices rose, and hearts were transformed.

Beautiful Zambales Mountains

The beauty of Zambales, with its stunning beaches and lush mountains, was a fitting backdrop for this spiritual awakening. As we gazed out at the breathtaking scenery, we felt the Lord whispering, “See Me more, trust Me more, and experience My power in greater measure.” Our team split into smaller groups to serve in different areas of the community.

Our time in the Philippines was a reminder that the church is alive, thriving, and unapologetic. We left with hearts full of joy, spirits renewed, and a deepened faith.

As we reflect on our experience, we’re reminded of the power of prayer, the beauty of worship, and the unwavering faith of the Philippine church. We’re grateful for the memories, the lessons, and the people who have become lifelong friends.

The Philippines, a beacon of hope in Asia, has left an huge mark on our hearts. We’ll carry the memories of our time there, and the lessons we learned, with us forever.

“I have been praying for breakthrough within my prayer life since Laos and really saw how the Lord guided me with prayer in the Philippines.

It happened the one morning at church where I brought a quick message about tithing and i ended off with prayer, all of a sudden my thoughts went blank and I had no idea what to pray next, yet I still opened my mouth and it felt like the holy spirit took over. Words that i have never heard myself pray before, started flowing.

The same thing happened again while praying for people after the service and again when I found my team praying outside for a 15 year old girl with a sickness.

As we were praying for this girl I felt the Holy spirit burning inside of me as we prayed, my hand started shaking and Marize (standing next to me) saw this and she felt led to put my shaking hand on the girls arm and right when i touched the girls arm the Holy Spirit overwhelmed her and she fell to the ground and the team caught her gently.

I was so in awe of how the Lord moved that morning and for the first time really felt like it wasn’t me thinking about praying and actually letting the Lord speak through me.

The rest of our time in the Philippines I could enjoy the presence of the Lord while praying for other people (it made me so excited when we could go and pray for them).

Me and the girl became good friends and our testimonies where quite similar, I had the privilege to be able to pray for her multiple times and sat in tears with her while she could experience the same freedom that I have received through Christ.”

May our experience in the Philippines be a catalyst for our own spiritual growth. May we see the Lord more clearly, trust Him more deeply, and experience His power in greater measure.

Discipleship is so important.

As we look to the future, it’s clear that the discipleship of young people is crucial for raising up Godly leaders. Just as Moses mentored Joshua, equipping him to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, we must invest in the next generation.

Joshua’s story teaches us that discipleship is about more than just imparting knowledge – it’s about passing on character, courage, and a deep trust in God. As we guide young people in their faith, we’re not just shaping their futures, we’re securing the future of God’s kingdom.

By discipling young people, we’re:

  • Equipping them to stand firm in their faith
  • Empowering them to lead with courage and integrity
  • Envisioning them to change the world for Jesus

As Joshua declared:

“I will certainly do this, for I will not fail or falter before the Lord your God” (Joshua 1:9)

Let us join Joshua in his resolve, committing to disciple and empower the next generation of God leaders. Together, we can ensure a bright future for God’s kingdom.

Sending love,

Eastbound.
